Show’s over

Until recently, my website included both a Performance and a Travel gallery.

As part of a wider (and still ongoing) website refresh, I decided to remove both. Not because the work no longer matters to me, but because the site itself needed to focus on the kind of photography I do now, and want to do more of.

I was never commissioned as a travel photographer. Most images were taken in the year between leaving my staff role as a press photographer and going freelance - time spent mainly in Italy, Nepal, and then backpacking around Asia. I kept the galleries on my website because they rounded it out and sparked the occasional conversation, even if they weren’t ever central to my professional work.

Performance photography is different. That was commissioned work, and work I enjoyed. But it’s rather specialised and niche, and something I’ve not really pursued since lockdown.

Removing both pages felt like a small but important decision: a way of letting the website reflect what I do best now. Below is a small selection of images from those galleries:
