These images were commissioned as part of a wider campaign for pharmaceutical company Roche. The photography wasn’t the lead element - it was designed to sit alongside a larger video shoot, matching the tone and visual language, and to be used across supporting materials.

The brief centred on naturalistic, lifestyle-led portraits: paired images of each subject, combining a tighter headshot with a wider environmental frame. Despite the simplicity of the images, this collaboration involved a large team, professional models and a range of locations over a few days’ shooting.

Much of the photography took place in short windows between video takes. That meant working quickly, often stepping into dressed scene, setting up, shooting, and clearing again without interrupting the flow of the production.

On a set of this scale, the challenge isn’t conceptual but practical. The role of the stills photographer is to be efficient, adaptable, and largely self-sufficient: knowing how to read the room, when to step forward, and when to stay out of the way. The work relied on speed, consistency, and experience over creativity.
